Chris and Mary Wooten have initiated prayer groups for men and women. Here is how to join.
Chris and Mary Wooten have started online prayer groups for men and women, which can be joined through the Whatsapp app (joining details below).
“We really felt God put this on our hearts,” says Chris. “It was born out of wanting to give space for men and women separately to feel seen and heard by their brothers or sisters in Christ and possibly give space for seekers to ask questions if that happens.”
Mary says it’s important for something to be available that’s beyond just Sunday morning ministry.
“God put it on my heart to start a group where we could encourage, support, and pray for one another throughout the week outside of the church, and also wanted it to be kind of a place where we could remind each other to keep our eyes on the Lord and stay on mission,” says Mary. “We could talk about how the Lord may be speaking to us and unpack things together as a group, praying for each other.
For the women, Mary is hoping it can be a space for support.
“I hope that our group can keep women focused on the Lord, lift each other up, and that it can be a safe space for those who may be needing more support, or have questions, or just need to know they aren't alone even if they are in different season. We’re hoping the group will expand beyond the walls of our church and others will come to know Christ more and we would also come to know one another more and do life together, instead of just meeting on Sundays and then going home and living our Monday to Saturday lives without one another.”
